LUYOR-3130 UV blacklight torches reveal invisible contamination on apparently clean surfaces
Surfaces that look clean are often not!
Our LUYOR-3130 high performance UV torches are widely used by hospitals, surgeries and cleaning companies to reveal contamination not visible under normal lighting. This shows on apparently clean surfaces any areas missed during cleaning, helping to achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness for infection control in hospitals in the fight against MRSA, C.difficile and other hospital acquired infections (HAI).
- Quick and easy method to improve and maintain surface cleanliness
- Monitor effectiveness of cleaning procedures
- Identify areas not cleaned properly, which can then be re-cleaned to the required standard
- Audit tool for improving cleaning regimes to reduce bio burden and pathogen levels
- Train new and existing staff how to clean to higher standards
- Evaluate the effectiveness of different cleaning products
- Increase public confidence, by showing that hospitals are taking cleanliness seriously by going much further than what can be seen with the naked eye

This process relies on fluorescence which can be induced in certain organic and inorganic substances by stimulation with UV blacklight. Fluorescence is a photoluminescence effect where light of a visible colour is emitted from some substances during stimulation under UV light.
Additional methods would be necessary in combination with UV fluorescent inspection, such as ATP bioluminescence and microbiological testing to determine specific spoilage or pathogenic organisms.
UV fluorescent inspection is widely used by forensic scientists to reveal evidence such as blood, urine, semen and saliva.
Applications include cleanliness validation of:
- General and deep cleaning
- Floors, furniture, worktops, etc
- Multiple use equipment
- Blood pressure devices, bedding, commodes, toys, keyboards, pens, clipboards, telephones, taps, curtains, chairs and more
- Sterile services
- Surgical instruments
