LUYOR-1144A Portable UV Inspection lamp

UV-A blacklights are used for inspection of conformal coatings on printed circuit boards (PCBs) to check for uniform coverage.

UV blue tracer additive is incorporated within the formulation of the coating and glows bright fluorescent blue under UV blacklight. Any areas on the PCB not glowing reveals parts missed during the application of the coating e.g. conformal coatings on electronic circuitry for environmental protection and corrosion resistant metal coatings.

We offer a wide range of UV blacklight inspection lamps utilising both high intensity discharge (HID) bulbs and low pressure (LP) tubes and UV LED lamp from hand lamps and torches to large area flood lamps for checking the uniformity and correct location of conformal coatings.

Selection of UV light equipment should be optimised for a particular application and depends on the requirements for UV light irradiation area, UV light intensity, process integration, ambient light levels and temperature sensitivity.

Our luyor® technical solutions combine equipment selection recommendations with health & safety training and products. This ensures maximum performance benefits, safe use and confidence of the workers.

With a built in UV light, this device makes it easy to closely inspect a surface

UV lights are often used to check PCB’s conformal coating. A conformal coating protects PCB’s from moisture, dust, and other environmental damage by providing a chemical barrier on the board. Many conformal coatings contain a UV trace, which will glow when viewed under a UV light. Because of this, UV magnifiers and microscopes can be used to find gaps in the conformal coating, and experienced inspectors can even validate the thickness of the coating based on the intensity of the glow.
